How much yarn do I need for a crochet baby blanket?
3-4 skeins is typical, but your pattern will tell you how much and of what weight. The factor that most affects how much you need is what kind of stitch you’re using (looser, lacy-type stitches won’t use as much, where crochet “puffs” will use more to build up the puff 😄).
How many chains do you need to crochet a baby blanket?
If you’re using a typical worsted weight yarn and a G or H hook, you should chain 150 for a 36″ wide blanket, or 175 for a 40″ wide blanket. If you’re following one of the patterns above, the starting number of chains, as well as the size crochet hook and finished blanket size will all be written out for you.
What is a quick and easy crochet stitch for a baby blanket?
