Turn a fur key chaininto a Dollar Tree Bunny Wreath in 10 minutes. This super adorable Easter Bunny Butt craft is affordable, easy, fast, and FUN! It’s a great project for kids, but just a fun for the grown ups too.

There is a common theme this year among the Easter crafts we’ve made. And if you haven’t noticed for yourself, I’ll just tell you….BUNNY BUTTS!
Last week we made these Bunny Butt Pots, now these mini wreaths, and I’ve got one more tooshie idea on the back burner if I’m able to get around to it before Easter. And since we’ve all got a liiittllleeee bit more time and NOWHERE to go, chances are I’m going to have Bunny Butts everywhere this Easter.
I’m calling this Dollar Tree Bunny Wreath a “mini butt wreath” but you can use this as a “Doorknob Hanger” for a slight twist on the traditional front door wreath. Or you could just hang it up around the house for a cute Easter decoration. But really, it will look adorable anywhere!
As you know, I am all about the creative on the cheap life. So the fact that these adorable mini wreaths are made with 100% Dollar Tree supplies, makes me love them even more!
In an effort to combat the the idea of TOO many bunny butts (as if there was such a thing), I decided to make one of these lil’ dudes “facing forward” (teal color)
Supplies Needed to Make a Dollar Tree Bunny Mini Wreath
- Donut shaped (or Round)fur keychain
- Carrot embellishments (optional)
- White felt
- Pink felt and/or Easter ribbon
- White pom poms
- Pipe cleaner (optional if you want to bend the bunny ears back)
- Glue (we used this glue gun but if you don’t have one or are unsure you can check out this glue guide)
- Scissors
This entire project cost under $5 to make, and we still have a bunch of ribbon and carrot embellishments leftover.
I did link to the Amazon version of supplies here, just in case your not able to get out to your local DT in this crazy time, but unfortunately the cost of supplies nearly double. Like seriously, the exact same carrots that were $1, are $6.15! C’mon, give us a break. I love Amazon, don’t get me wrong but for certain things, DT takes the cake.
If you can’t find the donut shaped fur keychain, this project could totally work with a regular fur Poof Ball.
How to Make a Dollar Tree Bunny Mini Wreath
First, let’s get the hard part over with and make the ears and feet. You can freehand this, or if your a perfectionist like me you can download the template I created for this project.

Trace(or draw freehand)the outer parts of the bunny foot and ear onto the white felt and cut them out.
Next, draw the inner parts onto the pink felt and cut those out.
Glue the pink “pads” of the feet onto the white felt, but WAIT to do the ears, there’s a trick here for this part.
Next you’re going to strip your pipe cleaner naked (oh stop, not like that)! Take scissors and trim as much fuzz as possible until you are left with just the wire part.
Fold the wire into a candy cane shape that is just a bit smaller than your pink felt piece, and then stick it to the pink felt before gluing it to the white ear.
So, you will have glued the wire in between the pink and white of the felt ear allowing you to bend and twist it as you like.
Next, glue the pom pom tail to the round fur keychain. The positioning will vary slightly whether you decide to make your Bunny facing forward or hopping away. The pictures here are for the Bunny hopping away because, well, I like Bunny Butts!
Now glue the feet just underneath the tail with the toes pointing down. (Opposite if your Bunny is forward – glue above the tail pointing up.)
Now FLIP the whole project over and glue the ears so that the pink part is facing you (no need to flip if Bunny is forward). I put the glue on the 3/4 of an inch space at the bottom of the ear, to about where my finger is in the below picture.
You can bend the ear(s) before gluing or you can bend once it is all done.
If you choose the forward facing way, glue the carrot diagonally across the front.
That’s it! How easy was that, really? And how cute?!
You could hang these on your front door as a “Mini” Wreath, on your wall, give them as a cute little gift, or even put one around your doorknob as a doorknob hanger (is that a thing?)
